Last updated: May 10, 2026.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of PacketMoat (“we,” “us,” or the “Service”), available at https://packetmoat.com. By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
PacketMoat publishes independent reviews, comparisons, and editorial commentary about security and privacy products for IT professionals, small businesses, and informed consumers. Content is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal, financial, or professional security advice. You are responsible for your own security decisions.
2. Editorial independence and affiliate links
PacketMoat may earn affiliate commissions when you purchase products through links on the Service. Commissions never determine our verdicts. See our Affiliate Disclosure for the full statement.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission; (b) use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the site; (c) attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service, related systems, or networks; (d) use automated scraping, crawling, or bulk-download tools beyond reasonable, well-behaved crawlers obeying robots.txt; or (e) use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation.
4. Intellectual property
All content on the Service — including text, graphics, logos, and editorial reviews — is the property of PacketMoat or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. The PacketMoat name and shield mark are trademarks of PacketMoat. Short, attributed quotation for the purpose of news reporting, commentary, or criticism is permitted under fair use; verbatim republication is not.
5. Third-party products and links
The Service references and links to third-party products, services, and websites. We do not control those third parties and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, availability, or the accuracy of their representations. Your dealings with any third party are solely between you and that third party.
6. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors, that information will be correct or current, or that any product reviewed on the Service will meet your specific security requirements.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PacketMoat, its owners, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your access to or use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to USD $50.
8. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PacketMoat and its contributors from any claim, liability, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
9. Changes to the Service or these Terms
We may modify the Service or these Terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of residence of PacketMoat’s owner, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in that state, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
