Welcome to PacketMoat. My name is Tye, and I am the Lead Analyst behind this site.
I spend my days working in the cybersecurity industry, helping organizations defend their networks against active threats. But when I clock out, I realized that my friends and family were struggling with the basics. They were buying cheap, insecure smart home gear. They were traveling with unprotected laptops. They were getting hacked because they reused passwords.
I built PacketMoat with one mission: To bring enterprise-grade security knowledge to everyday citizens.
My Philosophy:
- Privacy is a Right: You shouldn’t have to be a coder to keep your data private.
- Hardware over Hype: I prefer physical security keys and hard-wired connections over “cloud” solutions that can be breached.
- Trust but Verify: I personally test the gear I review. If a product leaks data, I will tell you.
