About PacketMoat
My name is Tye. By day, I defend enterprise networks as a CISSP-certified cybersecurity professional. By night, I am a parent trying to keep my family safe online.
I started PacketMoat because I saw the same gap every day: the tools and knowledge that protect Fortune 500 companies were not reaching the families who need them most. Parents were left with marketing fluff, scare tactics, and product reviews written by people who had never configured a firewall in their life.
PacketMoat is different. Every guide is written by a practicing security professional who also happens to be a parent. I test parental controls, review privacy tools, and write setup guides that actually work, because I use them in my own home first.
The Teenager Test
Before we recommend any parental control tool, we hand it to an actual teenager and ask them to bypass it. If a 15-year-old can get around it in under an hour, you deserve to know that before you pay for a subscription. We call this the Teenager Test, and it is the standard every review on this site is held to.
